Social Worker for the Investigation Unit

Do you want a meaningful and varied job where you truly make a difference for children, young people, and their families? Do you have experience in public authority work and feel confident handling both urgent situations and longer processes? Then you are the one we are looking for!

We are currently seeking two new colleagues to join us. One of the positions is for the youth team, which works with children and young people exhibiting norm-breaking behavior related to crime.

In the investigation units for children and families, we handle cases within individual and family care (IFO) for the target group of children and young people aged 0-20 years. We work to create social security for children, young people, and adults with the goal of achieving social sustainability. With us, you will meet people who, for various reasons, find themselves in difficult situations and need advice, support, or interventions from social services. We are an important part of the municipality's work for increased safety, where our mission is to prevent and counteract risk factors such as norm-breaking behavior, mental health issues, and children witnessing violence.

With us, you will receive close leadership with several team leaders in each unit who support you in your daily work. Additionally, we have several senior caseworkers who are available to support new employees as needed. When you join us, you will receive a thorough introduction and can rely on clear guidelines. We work with protective factors and highly value psychological safety.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social worker in the investigation unit, you will work with public authority duties according to current legislation and apply a systems theory perspective supported by Signs of Safety. With the user in focus and normalization as a starting point, your task is to describe, analyze, and assess needs, conduct motivational work, and enable more children to remain in their home environment with the right support.

The work involves investigating and documenting applications and reports according to SoL, making protection assessments, and making well-founded and quality-assured decisions. You will follow up on interventions and placements, prepare cases according to LVU and LVM, and receive new applications and reports. The role also includes representing in administrative court and presenting cases in the board, with support from the team leader as needed. Collaboration also occurs through participation in external meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a qualified social worker or has relevant validated education (Socialstyrelsen's qualification requirements for social workers: 7.5 credits in social work basic level, 7.5 credits in advanced social work, 7.5 credits in social law, 7.5 credits in psychology).

The Social Services Act and LVU are the foundation you stand on in your work, and your knowledge in these areas is important. Documentation is an obvious part of daily life, and therefore you need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

We are looking for someone who is confident in themselves and seeks a meaningful and varied job. You have the ability to see the whole in the investigative work and what is important for the investigation. Your openness and interest in listening to others contribute to creating good relationships with those you meet. You are structured and resilient but flexible in your planning. The workload varies, and you need to be able to handle cases of a more urgent nature. In crisis situations, you act calmly and composed. For us, it is important that you are interested in social work and come to work because you want and dare to make a difference for vulnerable people in society. If you have experience and knowledge of the target group, it is particularly meritorious. As travel is included in the position, you need to have a B driver's license.

For these positions, a criminal record extract is required.
